Ali is an amazing and very knowledgeable coach. She coached both of my kids from 6 months old till 3. She is patient, cares about what interests them and takes the time to go over what my kiddos did well and what they will be working on next time. My daughter loved diving off the block and Ali always made sure she fit that into each lesson even if it wasn’t planned for that session. Both of my kids trusted her fully and loved working with her. I definitely recommend Ali for your little one!

My daughter and I did parent and me lessons with coach Ali. She was so patient with my daughter and always made swimming so much fun for her. I’m so happy with the progress my daughter made with her swimming and water safety during her lessons. We are so thankful!

Ali was my daughter's swim instructor between the ages of 5-7. My daughter just simply loved her. She always looked forward to going to the pool for lessons (but never for a substitute). She was receptive to everything that Ali wanted to show her or wanted her to try - strokes, dives, turns, competitions or water polo (yes, water polo).
As a mother I appreciated having someone like Ali in the pool with my daughter. Ali is extremely good with children. She's caring and attentive and has a lot of patience. She also has a good read on kids and knows when to push on good days and understanding on bad days. I am thankful for all the years we got to know Ali.

Coach Ali used to coach my 2 boys. She was excellent with kids and was always very patient and positive with all them. We loved her so much that we continued with her private lessons. We will miss her but know that she will continue to coach and inspire future generations of swimmers.

Ali was one of the most professional and effective instructors that I've had the pleasure of working with. As a coworker, she was a fantastic communicator, consistent team player, and never hesitated to offer additional support when we needed last minute lessons or advice from her as a Senior Instructor.
Ali's swim schedule was always filled, as she was a very popular instructor who received many recommendations from the families of her students.
As a teacher, she was equipped to instruct all ages and levels of swimmers, and it was never a surprise to have families come up to the front desk to offer praise for her teaching.
She has the experience to adapt her teaching style to the needs of each of her students, and was always willing to follow up and go the extra mile to make sure that her students were comfortable, progressing, and ultimately happy with their time spent at the lessons.
Ali's charisma, experience, and commitment to excelling as a teacher would make her an excellent choice for your family.

It is obvious that the children Ali works with love her because she has fun with them and is able to motivate them to keep striving to be better. They demonstrate a lot of progress when working with Ali. She is a great coach and anyone would be lucky to work with her!

Frequently Asked Questions
Useful Information
Which class is best suited for my child?
Asses 3 things to figure out what class is right for you. 1. child's comfortably with water 2. experience level and 3. age. For example: a 3yr old, beginner would be a great fit for private lessons! If you have any questions with placement don't hesitate to reach out!
How long are lessons?
Lessons are 20 minutes! While this might seem short, I assure you its the perfect amount of time! I have been teaching at the 20 minute time frame since 2012 and have seen great success with this amount of time as children don't feel exhausted or overworked and I am not left fighting for attention. I work quickly and intentionally to maximize time while having fun as well. Remember, QUALITY over QUANTITIY!
Do you offer group lessons?
Yes! I offer semi-private lessons with 2 children as well as parent and me classes for kids ages 3mo-2years old.
What is a "wrap up"?
A "wrap up" is the last 1-2 minutes of your lesson when I inform you of your child's progress in the lesson and future goals I might have for your child. This is also a great time to check in with me, if you have any comments, questions or concerns that is the time to express it! I'm huge on open communication with my clients/families!
What ages do you coach?
I coach ages 3mo-adults!
Do you coach students with special needs?
Absolutely! I was a behavioral aid for students with special needs for years. My mom was also a behavioral interventionist for almost 10 years so it was a demographic I grew up with. I have coached children with down syndrome, add/adhd, speech delay, non-verbal, on the autism spectrum, M.S and more. Depending on each individual case some swim lessons are more for therapeutic reasons opposed to a "learn to swim" model. Please reach out if you have any specific concerns!
How quickly will my child learn to swim?
I know this isn't the answer you will probably want to hear. However, every child is so unique, it depends on so many factors. The childs age, personality, how quickly they learn to trust me, how comfortable they are with water, how often are they coming to class, etc. I have had some infants start at 3mo and know how to swim by 12mo. I've also had some kids learn in 2 lessons while others take a few months. It varies greatly but as long as your committed, consistent and approach each lesson with positivity your child will learn to swim in no time!
Do you do lessons out of your home?
I run lessons out of a local pool. However, I do offer home visits for an additional fee.
Will you travel to my house for lessons?
Depending on time and location, yes! I do travel and do home visits for an additional cost.
If you have a home pool I highly recommend doing lessons not only in your pool but in a community pool as well so your child adapts to multiple scenarios with water. And on the opposite end, if your doing lessons at a community pool but also have your own pool at home it is highly advised to do lessons in home from time to time as well.
What should I bring to my first lesson
Some good things to bring to your first lesson would be: a disposable AND reusable swim diaper (to be worn under the bathing suit - if 4 and under), a towel/poncho, a change of clothes, sunscreen, and flip flops. If you plan to rise off afterwards a dechlorinating body wash and lotion are also recommended.
Swim cap is optional. Goggles are NOT recommended.
Do you recommend goggles?
Unless you are a competitive swimmer I do not recommend goggles. When kids are learning to swim they have to get used to the feeling of water in their eyes. This is just incase they were to ever fall in the pool, it wont be a shock or new feeling to them!
What tips do you recommend for hair/skin care?
I have SO many tips! Some of them include: getting your skin wet before going into the pool to avoid chlorine absorption. Put a LIGHT layer of coconut oil on to protect your skin and at the base of your hair. Use a chlorine removing body wash after a lesson. Use a vitamin C lotion after showering. Let me know if you have any other requests for tips, I have a TON!
How can I prepare my child for their first lesson?
Some of the best things you can do to prepare your child for their first lesson is talk POSTIVELY about swim lessons, Coach Ali and the water. (Ex. Jimmy on Tuesday we are going to start swim lessons with Coach Ali, I'm so excited for you! Coach Ali is so much fun and she will make sure you stay safe at all times) Some moms have bought books to read to their kids in the weeks leading up and I absolutely love that!
Other things that you can prepare before your lesson is all your needed items (towels, flipflops, etc) payment and the address to the pool.
